The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria on Sunday said the remodelled Makurdi Airport Terminal would soon be completed.
Mr. Yakubu Dati, the General Manager, Corporate Communication of FAAN, quoted the organisation’s Managing Director, Mr Saleh Dunoma, as giving the assurance while inspecting the airport.
According to Dati, Dunoma urged the contractor handling the project to follow the given specifications as FAAN engineers would continue to monitor the progress of work closely.
The statement quoted Dunoma as expressing confidence that the terminal would make Makurdi Airport attractive to airlines for scheduled operations.
It said that the managing director inspected the arrival and departure halls, lounges, toilets and potential spaces for commercial offerings at the airport.
According to the statement, he also inspected the new cargo terminal under construction where he expressed satisfaction with the level of work so far done.
It said he was accompanied by Mr Ikechi Uko, the Director of Administration, Abubakar Achimugu, General Manager, Business Development and Mr O. Nwobu, Airport Manager, Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that FAAN had embarked on a remodelling programme to upgrade and repair the 22 dilapidated airport terminals across the country.
It has so far completed remodelling of 12 of the 22 airports terminals, while work is in top gear at the remaining terminals.
