Pandemonium In Delta State Community As Rival Cult Groups Go On Rampage

A deadly clash has killed one person and left two others injured as members of rival cult groups went on rampage at Obiaruku community, Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State.


The cultists, it was learned, took to the streets of the community, Tuesday, unleashing hostilities on residents, dispossessing them of valuables.

A source in the community said trouble started when members of the rival cult groups met at a beer parlour and engaged in a fight after a heated argument. “It was like they had some unresolved issues among themselves, and in the course of the clash, one of the cultists was killed,” a source who craved anonymity said.

According to the source, members of the deceased’s cultist’s group went on rampage, invaded the home of the former vigilante team Chairman and injured him with some sharp objects.

Police Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Celestina Kalu confirmed the incident and said no arrest has been made.
