Boko Haram: Multiple blasts rock Maiduguri, deadly attack in Geidam as Nigerian elections begin

Multiple blasts from bomb explosions suspected to be from the Boko Haram insurgents shook Maiduguri, Borno State, in the early hours of Saturday as Nigerians woke up on election day.

The blasts, about 11 in number, were heard at about 6 a.m.

Female Suicide Bomber On Mission To Maiduguri Nabbed At Goni Kalachari (photos)

Troops of 251 Battalion have arrested a female suicide bomber attempting to wreak havoc on Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, the army said Tuesday night.

The female suicide bomber, identified as Shaidatu Adamu, is a 19-year-old from Gwoza.

Troops kill 3 Boko Haram terrorists, recover weapons in Borno

The Nigerian Army says its troops have killed three Boko Haram insurgents while on fighting patrol in Kukawa in Baga Local Government Area in Borno on Sunday.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Texas Chukwu, disclosed this in a statement released in Maiduguri on Monday.

Suicide Bombers Kill At Least Three In Borno


Two female suicide bombers suspected to be Boko Haram jihadists killed at least three people in northeast Nigeria, emergency services said Monday.

The bombers detonated their explosives inside a house and near a mosque in the Mashamari area of Konduga, 35 kilometres (20 miles) southeast of the Borno State capital Maiduguri, on Sunday evening.
