Niger Delta Amnesty Vendors' Forum in collaboration with Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-agitators/Justice for the Abandoned Youths of Nigeria, today marched through major streets in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the National Security Adviser, Gen. Mongonu to stop interfering with the day to day administration of the Presidential Amnesty Office in the interest of peace in the Niger Delta region.

Militant group, Adaka Boro Avengers (ABA), through its spokesperson Edmos Ayayeibo, has vowed to carry out their threat of declaring their republic on October 1.

According to the group's statement, the Nigerian State has lost its unity, and to save lives on both sides, the Nigerian government should maintain peace, compose themselves or face total war.

Army confirms 5 soldiers dead, 3 missing following attack in Magumeri

The Nigeria Army says five of its officers have been killed while three others have been declared missing in the Boko Haram attack in Magumeri, a town in Borno state on Wednesday evening.

A statement released by Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, the army spokesman did not however disclose the names of the officers affected....

Shell wins a major battle against Niger Delta villagers



The ruling dealt a setback to attempts to hold multinationals liable at home for subsidiaries’ activities.

If the High Court had ruled in favour of the two groups, other claimants against British-based multinationals could have been emboldened to pursue legal action through the British courts, some legal experts had said.

Villagers from the Bille and Ogale communities in Nigeria’s oil-rich Delta region were trying to pursue oil spill allegations against the company’s Nigerian subsidiary Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) in British courts....
