A Chinese man spent 180,000 yuan (27,000 US dollars) to buy this gigantic fish which looks ordinary. The buyer purchased the fish on Sunday in Yangon region in China.


The fish, far from a normal kind, is called Bahaba taipingensis, a rare and a nationally-protected species in China. It is characterized by its yellow mouth, which is highly valued in south China.
