So wait, young people take cough syrup Codeine to get high?

I've been getting emails from some young people asking me to talk about this. Apparently some of our young men and women take the cough syrup Codeine to get high.
Seriously? I hear they either drink it alone or mix it with a soft drink and instead of taking just a table spoon, they down the whole bottle or half its content and this makes them high, calm and helps them sleep.
They basically overdose on this medicine recommended by doctors to help with cough. Wow!!
The demand for Codeine by these young folks is so high that it's now expensive and scarce. So, how did this start? Who figured that a cough syrup would make anyone high?
I don't know much about this so let's discuss it here. Do you know people who overdose on Codeine? Is it as dangerous as they say it is? Has it ever killed anyone? Please share your thoughts...

Toke Makinwa soon to go into Nollywood

The On-Air-Personality and TV presenter will soon add actress to her resume as soon as she gets a good script.
The newly wed video blogger revealed she has gotten a few offers from Nollywood but yet to take up any offer as she's waiting for the right story and script.
"Funny enough, I have been getting offers recently.
But I am looking for the right story, the right script and then I will do it" Toke said. But Toke ruled out music, "No oh. Too many people are doing that now."

ELECTRICITY WORKERS SHELVE STRIKE FOR TWO WEEKS

Electricity workers of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria and its successor companies have shelved their planned nationwide strike, which would have commenced on Tuesday. The strike, it was learnt, had been suspended for two weeks. Our correspondent gathered that officials of key unions, representing the workers, met with the Federal Government on Monday night in a meeting that stretched till the early hours of Tuesday.
The unions included the Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies and the National Union of Electricity Employees. It was also learnt that the decision to suspend the strike was reached at the meeting. The President-Gener al, SSAEAC, Mr. Bede Opara, told our correspondent that the unions decided to shelve the strike after reaching a compromise with the Federal Government during the meeting.
He said, "I'm sure you have heard that the strike has been suspended for the next two weeks. We had a meeting with government yesterday (Monday) that ended this (Tuesday) morning."
