Police have rescued three persons, who were abducted at different locations in Ekiti State by suspected kidnappers. A statement by Mr Alberto Adeyemi, the spokesman for the Ekiti State Police Command, which made the rescue, said the duo of Lola Akintunwa and a driver, one Soji Jegede, were rescued from kidnappers along Igbara Odo-Ogotun road on December 2....
Mr Adeyemi disclosed that Lola was abducted at about 5.15 p.m. along the same route on November 30, while Soji was kidnapped at about 7.15 p.m. on December 2 and the duo were rescued unhurt without ransom paid, sequel to the massive manhunt launched by police patrol teams.
He said: “The duo had been reunited with members of their respective families. Investigation is in progress and efforts are being intensified to arrest the kidnappers”.
The police spokesman further said that one Adeyomoye Alabi, who resides at Adehun Street, Ado-Ekiti, was kidnapped in her abode on November 25 at about 8.30 p.m. local time and taken to unknown destination.
“With the proactive actions taken by the police, the abductor has been rescued and re-united with her family.
“She was rescued by a team of Police Detectives at Lazora area opposite Fayose Market in Ajilosun Ado-Ekiti. Efforts are on to arrest her abductors and I want to assure you that the case is thoroughly being investigated,” Mr Adeyemi stressed.
He further appealed to those traveling on roads at this yuletide to be wary of the rampaging actions of evil doers, urging them to always be vigilant and security conscious.
The Ekiti Police Command spokesman advised Nigerians to give veracious information to the police on any suspected member of the public engaging in the nefarious business to help in checkmating their activities and making Ekiti safe for all.
